Meetings

Guests are always welcome to our club evenings. Enjoy our unique learning atmosphere celebrated by members from many cultures and nations.

Note:We currently moved our club evenings ONLINE. We might distance us physically but we keep socially close.

On club evenings you listen to 2-3 Toastmasters delivering prepared Lightning talks. Challenged by the table topic master you decide whether to take part or listen in to others’ impromptu speeches.

The “Toastmaster of the Evening” moderates the event as your Master of Ceremony. All speakers are growing in their performance through feedback structured in an evaluation speech dedicated to them. Additional roles help to hone the fine art of public speaking.

To keep our club atmosphere alive we offer limited seats for guests. Take this opportunity to learn how to become a better speaker, leader and online presenter (“Zoom like a Pro”) – in a co-learning club environment.

Location

Enjoy an evening in a multicultural all-English atmosphere at one of the earliest Toastmasters clubs in Europe. The club is beautifully located at the IBM Klub Böblingen e.V. facilities.

Please signup to help us anticipate and accommodate for the number of guests. The club has hygiene regulations due to COVID-19 in place. We adhere to a maximum number of people in the club room. We wear face masks all time at the location – except when among us within the meeting room.

Please arrive by 19:15  to make sure the meeting can start on time (and also for some small talk before the meeting).

From the north (Stuttgart):

Follow the autobahn A81 towards Singen
Exit at Böblingen Ost
At the first traffic light, take a left towards Schönaich/Nürtingen
At the roundabout (after 2 km) take a right into Schönaich
Take the second right into Kelterweg
Turn right onto the road to Böblingen. Take a left at the next traffic light (signposted IBM Forschung/Entwicklung) and follow the signs to the IBM Klub Restaurant.

From the south (Herrenberg):

Take the autobahn A81 towards Stuttgart
Exit at Böbligen/Sindelfingen
Follow the signs towards Schönaich
Soon after you cross the railroad tracks, take a right at the traffic light towards IBM Forschung/Entwicklung
Follow the signs towards the IBM Klub/Restaurant

By public transportation:

Take the S-Bahn S1 to Böblingen.

From Böblingen Bahnhof, one of these bus connections should get you in time for the club meeting. (The ones at 18:35 and 18:38 are the recommended one, as rush hour traffic in Böblingen is unpredictable). Plus if you arrive early, you always have an option of grabbing a drink from the restaurant 🙂
